Sherman Perryman
Entrepreneur. Strategist. Author. Creative.
Building legacy through discipline, systems, and creative expression.
From South LA to the Boardroom
My path started in South Los Angeles, moved through Morehouse College, and continued through an MBA at William Jewell College and the USC Ross Program in Real Estate.
I entered finance at 19, originating mortgage loans during a period that would end with the 2008 crash. That experience didn’t just teach me about markets—it taught me about systems, risk, and what happens when the foundation isn’t solid. I carried that lesson into every venture since.
From tax preparation and compliance work to commercial real estate sales through Perryman Commercial, each chapter added depth. I earned my PMP certification and went on to lead multi-million-dollar programs in cybersecurity and digital transformation across enterprise environments.
After nearly two decades of building inside other people’s organizations, I launched Black Fortitude—a strategic consulting firm delivering Fortune 500-caliber guidance to growth-stage businesses and institutional clients. The focus: identify the real constraint, build the system, and execute within 90 days.
“I’m not just a consultant. I’m a creative entrepreneur. The consulting, the writing, the art, the leadership development—it’s all one ecosystem. Each lane reinforces the others.”
Beyond consulting, I’m a best-selling author of From Grit to Greatness, host of The Militant Grind Show podcast, and founder of the Militant Legacy Project—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to youth development and financial literacy.
I also run Till Dawn Entertainment on the creative production side, and the Militant Grind platform for personal development. Everything connects back to the same core belief: discipline compounds into freedom, and legacy is built by what we structure, not what we say.
I’m currently pursuing an Executive MBA from Woolf University, because the day you stop learning is the day you start falling behind.
Love. Honor. Strength. Discipline. Wisdom.
These aren’t just words on a page. They’re the operating system behind everything I build, write, and teach. They came from lived experience—from navigating the 2008 recession, building businesses from scratch, and learning what actually holds when the pressure is real.
